Jolting Volumeter for Tapped Density Measurement
Single station Jolting Volumeter designed to measure the tapped density of powders, granules and similar products in accordance with USP Chapter <616> Method 2 and EP Chapter 2.9.15. Tapped density is achieved by mechanically tapping a measuring cylinder (ie raising the cylinder and allowing it to drop a specified distance under its own weight) containing the sample under test. Model JV1000 is supplied with one 250ml measuring cylinder. The unit has a membrane keypad for setting the number of strokes or time and an LCD screen to set the appropriate parameters and monitor the progress of the test. The Jolting Volumeter measures 280mm wide x 250mm deep x 670mm high. Weight: Approx. 22kgs. The Jolting Volumeter is an instrument for the determination of the tamped volume and bulk density of powders and similar products. This technique is particularly useful in powder flowability studies and, for example, in determining the amount of settlement during transit such as to determine optimum packing volumes for powders, granules and similar products.
